Playtech

London, 24 July 2019 – Playtech, the world’s leading gambling technology company, today announced that it has signed a contract with Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) to provide its BetBuddy gambling data analytics technology for OLG’s internet gaming platform.

OLG is a government agency of the Province of Ontario, based in Canada, that conducts and manages gaming, lottery, and internet gaming throughout the province.  This new agreement furthers a working relationship that began in 2014 and underlines Playtech’s position as a leading supplier of gambling technology that supports safer play in regulated markets globally. OLG is the only gaming organization in the world to twice receive the World Lottery Association’s Best Overall Responsible Gambling Program award, most recently in 2018.

Playtech’s acquisition of BetBuddy in 2017 is part of its ongoing investment in technology, data and engagement solutions to support a safer gambling journey and environment. BetBuddy, which is fully integrated into Playtech’s IMS player management platform, helps licensees to access player risk insights, set up targeted interactions via the real-time Engagement 360 tools, and incentivise safer gambling through gamification and tailored customer journeys.

Shimon Akad, COO, Playtech, said: “OLG is respected globally for its outstanding responsible gambling programs. Our partnership, including the use of BetBuddy, will help to keep OLG at the forefront of the industry when it comes to promoting safer play. Playtech’s position as the leading technology specialist in the gaming and betting industry means we have a unique role to play in raising the standards of safer gambling and consumer protection, in order to support a long-term successful and sustainable industry.”
