Playtech

London, July 11 2019 – Playtech, the world’s leading gambling technology company has announced the launch of Space Digger, a slot with a difference – a built-in Game Modifier feature to customise play for selected players.

This intergalactic game from Playtech’s Origins studio features an unlockable special feature, which licensees can choose to offer to selected player clusters, or even individual players. The game, playable from 10p a spin, features a stacked wild symbol that can stand in for any other symbol, except the bonus symbol, to create the best possible winning combination. Using the Game Modifier, licensees can offer players an additional stacked wild during the Free Spins bonus round for even greater win potential.

The modifier can be unlocked manually for individuals or groups, or configured in IMS to unlock based on pre-defined criteria. Utilising the power of Playtech’s Engagement 360 tool, licensees can deliver modifier campaigns at key points in the player journey, including via in-game messaging.

After a successful pilot of Game Modifiers with the highly popular Justice League slot in late 2018, Space Digger is the first in a planned series of games developed specifically with this unique technology in mind. A marketing tool unmatched elsewhere in the industry, Game Modifiers offer a range of potential applications, such as rewarding VIPs, tackling churn or attracting lapsed players to return by boosting their engagement and entertainment levels.

James Frendo, Director of Casino at Playtech, comments: “Playtech’s core objective is to lead the way on innovation in the gambling industry, from both a technological and marketing perspective. Game Modifiers are a unique proposition in the current market, offering our licensees an easy and effective way to differentiate their offering and boost player engagement.

“Several of our customers have already run very successful Game Modifiers campaigns with Justice League, so we’re confident they will welcome the chance to do so again using our first game purpose-built for this feature, with more to come later this year. With an improved RTP on offer via the modifier, Space Digger presents a truly compelling proposition as a marketing tool and for players looking for something extra”.

Space Digger is on general release now.
