London, 19 December 2018 – There were twice as many reasons to celebrate for Playtech Romania at the recent Casino Life and Business Awards, with wins in two major categories – Best Technology and Best Live Studio.
Now in their 12th year, the awards, hosted by Casino Life and Business magazine, have become a highlight of the Romanian gambling industry calendar. Held this year at the Ambasad'Or Events Centre in Otopeni, the awards honour excellence and innovation across the sector, and are voted for by the magazine’s readers.
Romania is home to one of five Playtech Live Casino facilities worldwide, with native-speaking dealers hosting Blackjack, Prestige Roulette and Casino Hold’em tables. With the Romanian gambling market worth in excess of €1.2 billion annually, Playtech’s significant investment in Live Casino services in the region demonstrates its growing strategic importance.
“We’re delighted to be recognised by Casino Life and Business magazine and its readers for our work in the Live Casino arena”, says Kevin Kilminster, Head of Live Innovation. “Technological innovation and a focus on first-class player experience have always been at the heart of our offering, so this success underlines the value of that investment to players and licensees alike. Being able to offer native-speaking dealers – all of whom have been through our rigorous training programme – in this key regulated market has been a significant game-changer, reflecting Romania’s growing value and potential.
“Millions of pounds’ worth of investment, including the development of our flagship Euro Live centre in Riga, has gone into making Playtech’s Live Casino experience a world-class one. 2018 has been a very exciting year for the Live team, with new products such as Spin a Win and Trivia Show Live proving major successes, and we can promise that 2019 will bring continued innovation for an even better Live experience”.
