Playtech

We’re delighted to announce that Lauren Iannarone of Playtech Compliance and Valeria Russo of Quickspin, two of nine Playtech nominees, have been honoured at the 2019 Women in Gaming Diversity Awards (WIGs).

Playtech’s Head of Corporate Responsibility since 2016, Lauren’s tireless and outstanding work in in the Compliance team and as the company’s social responsibility champion has been honoured with one of the most prestigious awards at the ceremony – the coveted Industry Achiever Award. The award celebrates the dedication and commitment of the most influential women in the industry and their significant contribution to the success of their organisations.

Since joining Quickspin in October 2018 as an Account Manager, following spells with NetEnt and iSoftBet, Valeria’s instant impact has seen her triumph in the Star of the Future category. Honouring the strides made by the leaders of tomorrow, the award recognises the energy, ambition and spirit driving a positive, inclusive future of the gambling industry.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2019, the WIGs recognise and promote gender diversity and wellbeing across the gambling industry, honouring the contributions of both organisations and individuals, from senior figures to stars of the future.

Shimon Akad, COO at Playtech, comments: ‘We’re exceptionally proud of all our nominees at the Women in Gaming Diversity Awards, and Lauren’s and Valeria’s success is a testament to their fantastic work since joining the company. Having come from outside the sector, Lauren has brought a fresh perspective to Playtech’s Responsible Gambling and CSR strategy, while Valeria has rapidly gained experience with key players in the industry, setting her on a path to an extremely bright future with Playtech.

‘The WIGs are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the achievements of key figures in our industry, as well as challenging some of the preconceptions around gender bias and inspiring the leaders of tomorrow. At Playtech, diversity and inclusion are key priorities, and we’re committed to doing all we can to attracting, retaining and empowering a truly inclusive workforce. The number of nominations received across Playtech and Quickspin at this year’s WIGs is a clear indicator of just how much we can achieve’.

This success marks the second double win in a row for Playtech, following honours last year for our Head of Tax, Kam Sanghera (Star of the Future) and our Head of Account Management, Lucy Owen (Industry Pride Award). Many congratulations to Lauren, Valeria and all our nominees for their amazing achievements throughout the year!
